In The Eye of The Beholder: Selections from the Art Galleries at Gallery Center
at Boca Raton Museum of Art
05/09/08 - 06/22/08The painter Maurice de Vlaminck once said, "Good art is like cooking; it can be tasted, but not explained." In the Eye of the Beholder is intended to increase the visitor's pleasure in "tasting" a variety of outstanding historical, modern and contemporary works, which reflect a broad range of styles and mediums. In organizing this exhibition, the Museum has worked with six art galleries at Gallery Center in Boca Raton - the Elaine Baker Gallery, Gallery Camino Real, Griffin Gallery, Habatat Galleries, Karen Lynne Gallery, and Rosenbaum Contemporary. Over the years, their collective eye for quality has helped to educate the public and shape the character of area art collections. Both museums and art galleries provide vehicles for learning, inspiration and entertainment. Additionally, both contribute substantially to the formation of the modern art market. Selections of masterworks from Gallery Center art galleries will present an opportunity to acknowledge this formidable relationship wZita Waters Bell presents The Twenty-Sixth Annual Palm Beach Winter Antiques Show featuring dealers of national and international renown; offering a diversity of antiques and art for the discriminating buyer.
