| Costa Rican Jaguar Vessel, Nicoya region, ca. 1000 CE - 1400 CE. Feline with open mouth, bared fangs and pointed ears supported by tripod of two legs and tail. Legs with wooden ball for rattle effect. Outstretched hands placed on the knees. Silhouette jaguars covering limbs and bib, tapering spout encircled with bank of stylized birds. Original paint in black, reddish brown and cream. Head professionally reattached from original piece, otherwise in excellent condition. 14" high. | |||||||||||
