Roman Bronze Hydria Handle with three Lion's Head. Lion Head in center flanked by foreparts of two lions. Palmette on bottom of handle. In excellent condition. On custom stand handle is 6 1/2". Handle is 4 1/2" x 3" x 2". A hydria is a type of water-carrying vessel in the metalwork and pottery of Ancient Greece. The hydria has three handles. Two horizontal handles on either side of the body of the pot were used for lifting and carrying the pot.
