A rare Han Bronze Votive Censor in the form of a Turtle (206 B.C.-220 C.E.)with original bowls and spoons. This devotional item is reminiscent of a turtle whereas the body forms the firebox and there is an opening at the rear for fuel. Models of censers were usual components of funerary offerings from western Han onward. For similar example see "Monks and Merchants: Silk Road Treasures from Northwest China" 2001. Some wear due to age but in good condition. 7 1/2" high x 11" long. Ex: Private London collection.
