A Rare Ancient Near East Core Formed Glass Amphoriskos, ca. 6th - 5th Century BCE. Core forming is the earliest form of glass making techniques. Glass is shaped around the body of a core and removed, then wound colored trails and handles and rim added last. Cobalt blue with conical body and rounded shoulders. Cylindrical neck with opaque yellow and turquoise threads that spirals around body. Ex: Gershon Bineth collection, Israel. 2.795" high and in very good condition.

Ming dynasty Guri Lacquer Cups, China (1368 - 1644 CE) Lined with thin silver metal. Guri is the technique of applying dozens of layers of black then red lacquer then carving through the layers in arabesque designs to create a dynamic 3 dimensional pattern. Large bowl $3,500 and 4 3/8" high. Small bowl $1,500 and 2 3/16" high. Ex: Estate of James H. Kelley, acquired in 1960s. In very good condition.
