Amber and green tilemaker's large standing Buddhistic Lion, Ming dynasty, 1368 - 1644 C.E. Standing foursquare on base, snarling mouth exposing curled tongue and long fangs. Wearing elaborate trappings including amber drape from saddle. Bells and tassels suspended from trappings. 20" high and 14 1/2" long. In excellent condition.
Tang dynasty Sancai Glazed Bactrian Camel (618 - 907 C.E.) T.L. Test from Oxford Authentication Ltd. Standing foursquare with head raised and mouth open exposing small teeth. Body predominantly amber glazed with some cream on eyes and muzzle. Saddle with detailed mask in sancai glaze. Some earthen encrustation and small chips due to age and wear, but in excellent condition. 20" high, 19 " from nose to tail.
Ming dynasty sancai glazed Court Attendant (1368 - 1644 C.E.) flared shoulders, wearing hat, long flowing belted robe, boots, and holding a fan. Figure with unglazed removable head. Some minor chips due to age, but in excellent condition. 13 1/2" high.
Well modelled terracotta Tang dynasty (618 - 907 C.E.)terracotta Court Figure with helmet-like coiffure pulled into topknot. Hand held together against chest while robes blouson over the side of belt. Traces of red and black pigment as well as white slip remain. In excellent condition.
T.L Tested. Circa 750 C.E., 21" high this monumental figure of Yang Guifei is the concubine over whom Emperor Xuanzong (712-756 C.E.) lost an empire. She changed the standard of beauty in China and brought rise to the fashion for "Fat Ladies. Traces of pigment remain on face and throughout body. In excellent condition.
Ming dynasty (1368 - 1644 C.E.) pale celadon jade recumbent horse with smiling face and pleasing features. Incised tail and mane, sitting on one leg while other is in position to stand. In excellent condition, 4" tall x 6" long.
Amber jade winged Chimera with opened mouth showing fangs. Fierce gaze with finely incised facial features, coiled tail with folds of skin well delineated. Circa 1279 - 1368 C.E. 4 1/2" high. In excellent condition.
Amber and green glazed Liao dynasty pillow of a recumbent lion. Well molded with head turned to one side with pleasing expression. Headrest sloping downward for comfortable sleeping position.
