The Greeks in Southern Italy. Campanian guttus(oil lamp filler) with releif Head of Apollo. Ring handle set at right angles to the elongated spout with sides of bowl striated. The surface has a metallic black glaze, other than a band around the upper foot and the underside of the vase, which are reserved. Calene ware, c. 300 B.C. 4 1/2" high and 3.9 inch diameter. Apulian Red-Figured Bell Krater from 330-310 BCE. Most likely by the Malibu Painter. Belonging to the Chevron Group. On obverse a draped female, her knee bent looking back toward a mirror in her right hand, in her left hand holding a decorated box. On the reverse a profile head of a Lady of Fashion, with saccos and stephani, down turned lip and straight nose, wearing a necklace and earrings her hair adorned by a headdress. Spectacular large double spouted Askos, or water or wine holder. The vessel is furnished with a braided handle at the top and has two mouths one of which served to fill and the other to empty the container. It is possible that this container was used for beer because one spout has a strainer at the top. The piece retains much of its original paint design with lines, waves, and meanders. 13 1/2" high. Small chip to rim of non-strainer mouth, otherwise in excellent condition.

Campanian Teano Ware Kernos with four cups used to hold multiple offerings. Flaring rims set on deep, ridged circular base, Simple decoration of incised lines around bowls and wall of base, rows of dots above and below lips, circa 290 B.C.E., 4" high, pigment faded from aging but in excellent condition. The kernos was used primarily in the cults of Demeter and Kore, and of Cybele and Attis.

Two pairs: Apulian Gnathia Ware Epichysis, one in ovoid shape with large wreaths on body centered by rosette, other pair is reel-shaped with grape vines on shoulders and band or key across body. All vessels with a mold-made lion-head mask where handle joins the rim, circa 340 - 320 B.C.E., Ovoid paid has small chip on one foot and 8" high, Reel-shaped pair 6 1/2". In very good condition.

Entire body of krater decorated with palmettes and geometric vertical lines. Volutes with molded female heads. In excellent condition. 16 1/2" high.
