Pear shaped bronze horse head with human figure surmounting horse in erotic fashion. Flared foot with two suspension loops. Wonderfully incised with upturned half-nozzle and raised flange. Circa 2nd Century BCE. 3" high x 5" long.
Depicted in the form of Harpokrates, the young Horus, the Greek god of silence and secrecy. The nude figure wearing the side-lock of youth, a uraeus on cap and right hand index finger raised to mouth. Figure seated on custom stand. Circa 30 B.C.E - 395 C.E. In excellent condition. 3 3/4" high.
